The representative of the EU’s Foreign Policy, Josep Borrell, has given an official statement after the end of the meeting between Prime Minister Albin Kurti and President Aleksandër Vucic, where the Declaration on Missing Persons was agreed upon.

In a media conference, Borrell said that the parties have also taken a step towards the establishment of the Association of Municipalities with a Serbian Majority, although there are big differences between the two countries on this issue.

“The management group presented the first draft, which is not the final one. This is in line with Article 5 of the agreement. The draft was placed on the table. Prime Minister Albin Kurti shared his view on the protection of the Serbian community in Kosovo. As expected, the positions of the parties are very different. I didn’t expect anything different. But at least they agreed to start negotiations for the association on this draft. In Europe, there are many association models that can be taken into account,” said Borrell.
