The Kasabashi Bridge is an engineering work that holds the status of “Cultural Monument”, Category I.
The bridge is located near the town of Çorovoda in the Skrapar district. It falls into the typology of symmetrical bridges with three humpback arches and discharge windows.
The Berat Regional Directorate of Cultural Heritage reminds that the caravan road from Berat-Skrapar-Korçë used to pass through this monument.
It is believed that the bridge is a work of architect Kasemi from the village of Grëmsh. This can also be inferred from the name of the bridge (Kasabash – master Kaso-Kasemi).
The central arch, which has a larger volume, appears with a steeply constructed peak with a 12-meter light space, while the two side arches are smaller in volume and have a semi-circular shape.
The Kasabashi Bridge is built over a branch of the Osum River. It is located about 1 km away from the town of Çorovoda, to its north. Specialists believe it was built around the 16th – 17th century.
