Kosovo has officially received recognition from the Republic of Kenya as an independent and sovereign state. President Vjosa Osmani reacted to the development on Facebook, describing it as a significant step in Kosovo’s international recognition process.

In her statement, Osmani said the decision, signed by Kenyan President William Ruto, demonstrates Kenya’s support for Kosovo’s freedom and sovereignty. She expressed deep gratitude on behalf of Kosovo’s institutions and citizens.

Vjosa Osmani’s Statement:

“The Republic of Kosovo welcomes the decision of the Republic of Kenya to recognize Kosovo as an independent and sovereign state, through the official decree signed by President Ruto and delivered to the Presidency.

This recognition is a testament to the continued support for the right of the people of Kosovo to freedom, independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. It also acknowledges the long-standing suffering and sacrifice of our people in pursuit of liberty.

On behalf of Kosovo’s institutions and citizens, I express heartfelt thanks to President William Ruto for this just and important decision, as well as to the Kenyan institutions and people who supported this major diplomatic milestone.

Over the years, I’ve held several important meetings with President Ruto, in which Kosovo’s recognition was a central topic. He consistently assured us that the decision would come soon, grounded in international law and the rightful struggle of our people.
