The KFOR Commander in Kosovo, Major General Enrico Barduani, visited Mitrovica on Wednesday.

Accompanied by a high-ranking military delegation, Barduani spent about an hour at the main bridge over the Ibar River, where he was briefed on the overall security situation in the city.

During his visit, he walked from the northern side of the bridge to the southern side, passing through “Isa Boletini” and “Mehë Uka” squares, accompanied by a significant number of KFOR personnel.

Barduani did not provide any statements regarding his visit to Mitrovica.

It remains unclear whether the KFOR commander’s visit is linked to speculation about the potential opening of the bridge ahead of Kosovo’s upcoming elections.
