CEC spokesperson Valmir Elezi stated on Tuesday that 15,352 citizens voted at diplomatic missions, while 68,712 cast their votes by mail.
However, he cautioned that this percentage might change after the evaluation process of the postal votes received.
More than 2 million Kosovo citizens had the right to vote in this year’s parliamentary elections, including 104,924 registered voters from the diaspora.
This was the first electoral process where diaspora members were allowed to vote at 19 diplomatic missions worldwide.
Elezi added that the counting of diaspora votes will begin in the coming days at the Counting and Results Center.
According to preliminary results, after counting more than 90 percent of the votes, the ruling party, Lëvizja Vetëvendosje, has secured over 40 percent of the vote, followed by the Democratic Party of Kosovo with around 22 percent, the Democratic League of Kosovo with approximately 17 percent, and the coalition between the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo and the Social Democratic Initiative with around 7 percent of the vote.
