Kosovo choir clinches gold medal at Grand Prix of Nations

Kosovo has notched up another remarkable international success by clinching a gold medal at the Grand Prix of Nations in Sweden.

The Kosovar Minister of Culture, Youth, and Sports lauded this achievement as “extraordinary”, as the Siparantum choir triumphed in the highest category of the competition, the coveted Grand Prize of Nations.

Siparantum took part in the European Choir Games held in Sweden.

During the competition, Siparantum showcased Albanian compositions, including “PAX” by composer Memli Kelmendi, “A Bit in a Dream, A Bit in Nightmare” by Baki Jashari, and also “Te na solbici” by Samo Vovk and “Atsalumst” by Jēkabs Jančevskis.

The Siparantum choir has a history of participating in various international events and has previously claimed several awards.

One notable achievement includes their victory in the World Choir Games 2021, where they were hailed as winners in the “The Open Competition – Musica Contemporanea” category.
