Analyst Ben Andoni says that enthusiasm for national unification with Albania has dropped significantly in Kosovo.

In an interview for Euronews Albania, Andoni said that internally Kosovo no longer appreciates Albania as its mother country, but likes to identify mostly with its own country.

“I’m sorry to say it, but Kosovo in the interior does not value Albania as its motherland anymore. In the years immediately after the war, there was more than 80 percent who wanted the almost automatic union with Albania. Now this percentage has dropped tremendously. I regret to say that Kosovars do not have the former enthusiasm for unification. They prefer more to identify with their state part”, said Andoni.
