From January to November 2024, Kosovo imported goods from Albania worth over 302 million and 299 thousand euros. The goods that are mostly imported from Albania are mainly fruits and vegetables.
In the same period of the year, according to the data of the Kosovo Customs, the country imported tomatoes worth over 3 million and 300 thousand euros. The value of peppers and watermelons imported from Albania is over 3 million.
Meanwhile, a very sought-after tree at the end of the year, such as mandarin, although it does not appear with a special figure in the customs data, is imported from Albania.
In December, the European Union blocked several shipments of tangerines originating in Albania under the suspicion that they contained harmful pesticides. Kosovo also blocked six cargoes, which it tested and after analysis, it turned out that they are safe for consumption. The import value of such trees exceeds two million euros.
Kosovo imports construction material from Albania in bulk, for 11 months of 2024, over 37 million euros is the value of imported white cement. 62 million 683 thousand 320 euros is the value of electricity imported during this period from Albania.
