Kosovo Police announced on Monday that they have arrested two officials of the Center for Civil Registration in Obiliq, with the initials I.M. and A.G., under the suspicion that they have misused their duties by enabling the falsification of identification documents for another person.

They are suspected of helping a person with the initials F.A., to be equipped with two other false identities, in addition to his valid identification document as a citizen of Kosovo.

They are accused of falsifying an official document and misuse of official position or authority, the police said.

“Regarding the case in question, all the investigative actions defined in the authorization issued by PTH – Prishtina and additional actions which were considered necessary have been undertaken”, said the Police in a communique.

They were interrogated by the police on Monday and the Basic Prosecutor’s Office in Pristina ordered their detention for 48 hours, pending further legal proceedings./REL
