The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, declares that the issue of the opening of the Ibri Bridge should not be included in the topics of the dialogue with Serbia. In a meeting held with the commander of KFOR, major general Özkan Ulutash, the president emphasized that the Ibri bridge is an internal issue of Kosovo that serves all communities.
On the other hand, Osmani emphasized that the Government of Kosovo should have a joint plan with NATO allies regarding the steps to be taken for the process of opening the bridge.
In the announcement of the presidency of Kosovo, it is stated that the head of state has spoken with the KFOR official about the coordination between our institutions and security partners, especially with NATO, in order to build a joint implementation plan for the opening of the bridge.
Osmani stated that the security institutions of Kosovo and NATO should have security assessments and citizens’ interests.
Earlier, Osmani contradicted the statements of the spokespersons of the European Union who requested the discussion of this issue in the regular meetings that take place in Brussels between Kosovo and Serbia. She has described these statements as racist and attitudes that do not take into account the interests of the citizens of Kosovo.
