Kosovo’s President Vjosa Osmani will address the European Parliament this Wednesday, upon the invitation of its President, Roberta Metsola.

This is the first time that a President of the Republic of Kosovo, as an independent state, will address a plenary session of the European Parliament.

It is known that President Osmani will address Members of the European Parliament regarding Kosovo’s achievements and its path towards EU membership.

She will express the gratitude of the citizens of Kosovo for the support that the European Parliament has offered to the country since the 1990s, according to the Presidency’s press office.

“During her stay in Strasbourg, where the session of the European Parliament is being held, President Osmani will first be received by the President of the European Parliament, Ms. Roberta Metsola in a meeting to discuss cooperation between the Republic of Kosovo and this institution, and then she will also meet with the leaders of the main political groups represented in the European Parliament,” the statement said.

In addition to meetings with representatives of the European Parliament, President Osmani will also meet with representatives of the Council of Europe during her stay in Strasbourg, as it is announced.
