The recent epidemiological situation in Kosovo has been responsible for repeated unease. The ministry of health has reported that in the past 24 hours, 36 citizens lost their lives to COVID and 1.630 others were confirmed to have contracted the virus.

The positivity scale was confirmed after experts conducted well over 11 thousand tests, as the number of active cases have reached 26 000.

The rise in infections has also contributed to a rise in hospital admissions. However, despite infections the number of recoveries has also been on the rise.

816 citizens have recovered in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries to 113.699.

The country’s PM, Albin Kurti has called an urgent meeting of the National Security Council because of the rapidly escalating situation.
