Serbia’s chief negotiator, Petar Petković, has announced that a meeting will take place on Tuesday in Brussels with Kosovo’s chief negotiator, Besnik Bislimi, under the mediation of the EU’s special envoy for the dialogue between the two neighboring countries, Peter Sorensen.

“A working atmosphere within the Belgrade delegation in Brussels ahead of the direct talks between Belgrade and Pristina under the mediation of the European Union,” Petković wrote on Instagram.

Kosovo’s chief negotiator’s office has not responded to Radio Free Europe’s inquiries regarding the planned tripartite meeting in Brussels.

The June 10 meeting follows previous bilateral discussions held separately between Kosovo’s Deputy Prime Minister, Besnik Bislimi, and Petković with Sorensen on June 2 in Brussels.

It also follows the failure of a previously planned tripartite meeting on June 2, which, according to Bislimi, was canceled due to delays faced by the Serbian delegation in arriving in Brussels.

Bislimi said that in his recent meeting with Sorensen, they discussed the EU envoy’s approach in the next stages of both chief negotiator and high-level talks, which will be overseen by the EU’s new High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Kaja Kallas.

“We also discussed a very important process we have underway—support for Albanians in the Preševo Valley through assistance programs for small farmers,” Bislimi said, according to a press release from his office.
