The Government of Kosovo announced the first auction for a solar energy park of 100 MW, worth 75 million euros. This investment is supported by USAID and is considered as the starting point of a new era in the development of renewable sources in Kosovo.

“We are opening this auction at a very important moment, as we are taking one of the most crucial steps towards our green transition with some of the biggest investments in our energy sector in decades,” declared PM Albin Kurti.

USAID chief Samantha Power, who’s staying in Kosovo, said that the country has a brilliant future in the energy sector. She also said that Kosovo is on the right path so that in the future, it can secure 40% of its energy needs from renewable sources. According to USAID, this auction is expected to help Kosovo in offering cheaper energy for its citizens.

Even in neighboring countries, such auctions have increased the credibility of businesses.
