The judge of Tirana’s Appeals Court, Zegjina Sollaku has been officially removed from office after not being able to justify her wealth.
The decision was taken during today’s session of the Independent Qualification Commission (KPK) by the judicial body led by Xhensila Pine, realtor Lulzim Hamitaj and member Suela Zhegu.
International observer Francesco Ciardi was also attending.
During the hearings dedicated to this judge, irregularities were noticed in her declarations as well as a lack of financial sources for a total sum of ALL 70 million, or around €65 000 euros.
Judge Sollaku was being represented in court by her husband, former Prosecutor General, Theodhori Solaku, who opposed the Commission’s claims and findings.
