The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, today visited the four northern municipalities with a Serbian majority, including the place where policeman Afrim Bunjaku was killed by Serbian paramilitary forces on September 24, 2023.

He said that the future of Kosovo is everyone’s right and responsibility. “Together we will work for a brighter tomorrow,” Kurti wrote on the X network.

Serbian chief negotiator Petar Petkovic reacted to Kurti’s visit to the north, saying that “he has nothing to ask for in the north, as he is not welcome”.

“He went to the municipality building, where the “Gauleiter” and the “false” mayor of the municipality were waiting for him,” he said, referring to the mayor of Leposaviq, Lulzim Hetemi.

Prime Minister Albin Kurti’s adviser, Jeton Zulfaj, reacted to Petkovic’s statements, who called it insulting and deeply ignorant to compare a mayor of Kosovo, elected in democratic elections recognized by QUINT, with a regional leader of the Nazi era.

“This comparison is not just a slur; it also reflects Petkovic’s impudence and reveals his mentality. It is not surprising, given that he is a member of a political party whose leader served as propaganda minister during the Milosevic regime, which carried out genocide and ethnic cleansing in Bosnia and Kosovo,” wrote Jeton Zulfaj.
