Kurti: Here’s the guarantee that the US-EU gave me for the agreement with Serbia

The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, reported to the Assembly about the meeting he had with the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, on March 18 in Ohrid, North Macedonia.

During his speech, Kurti stated that he has received guarantees from the USA and the EU for the implementation of the agreement with Serbia. Kurti underlined that if there will be cooperation, there will be facilities for the road to the EU as well as financial support. 

“There should be mutual recognition of relevant state documents and symbols, including passports, diplomas, license plates and customs stamps. We will exchange permanent missions, essentially, embassies with a different name. Serbia has accepted all of this above, this is of course a de facto recognition established in written form and in an irreversible status now because the European Union and the United States of America are guarantors of its temporal permanence.

All these obligations are in force. Cooperating states will receive a boost in their respective EU accession process and financial support”, he emphasized.
