Kurti Meets with Orav: Discussion on Lifting EU Measures Against Kosovo

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, met today with Aivo Orav, the Head of the European Union Office in Kosovo.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, Ambassador Orav positively assessed the February 9 election process, describing it as orderly and incident-free. He also noted that the elections received positive evaluations from Brussels.

“Ambassador Orav congratulated the Prime Minister on the victory and the election results. Together, they discussed the next steps toward the constitution of the Assembly and the formation of the new Government of the Republic of Kosovo,” the statement read.

Call for Lifting EU Measures Against Kosovo

During the Kurti-Orav meeting, they also discussed the necessity of lifting the EU-imposed measures against Kosovo and the need for a swift review of Kosovo’s application for EU membership.

Additionally, Ambassador Orav visited the three major political parties in Kosovo:

  • Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK)
  • Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK)
  • Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK)

The main topic of discussion was the electoral process, and political entities expressed their commitment to respecting the will of the citizens as reflected in the election results.
