The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, in his speech before the Parliament of Kosovo regarding the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, on Thursday, said that the Serbian President, Aleksandar Vucic, does not agree with the content of the European proposal for the normalization of relations between the two countries. 

“Acceptance is made only through the signature of both parties. The refusal to sign it is an indication that they do not agree with the content”, said Kurti, referring to the high-level meeting between him and Vucic in Brussels, on February 27, where the European proposal was discussed.

The text of this proposal, which the European Union has called a basic agreement, was published on the evening of February 27. After the meeting in Brussels, the representatives of the EU, as facilitators of the dialogue, said that both Kosovo and Serbia have accepted the text of this basic agreement and it is expected that the implementation plan of this agreement will be discussed in the future. The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, said on February 28 that Serbia is ready to work on many things that emerge from the European proposal for the normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia. However, he added that he will not talk about “mutual recognition, recognition and membership of Kosovo in the United Nations”.

Asked during an interview about the article that says that Serbia will not block Kosovo from joining international organizations, Vucic said: “That’s why I didn’t sign it.”
