The Assembly of Kosovo convened to reflect on the first 100 days of the government of Prime Minister Albin Kurti, as well as the Balkan mini-Schengen, now officially called Open Balkan.
Dialogue with Serbia, economic issues, international relations, budget, pandemic, and the discharge of several officials were among the fieriest topics accompanying the so-called Kurti 2 government since March 22, when Kurti received a vote of confidence in parliament to form a new government.
The first topic to be discussed during Monday’s plenary session was the Open Balkan initiative, where several lawmakers defied its true scope and maintained a harsh stance on Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama and his approach on Kosovo.
Also, two MPs from the Democratic Party of Kosovo said to have received threatening messages from the husband of President Vjosa Osmani, after they had denounced several scandals and wealth alleged to belong to the family of Kosovo’s president.
Lawmakers also urged the government to speed up the vaccination campaign, amid rising figures mainly attributed to the highly contagious Delta variant.
Another topic discussed was that of wildfires that have raged through several areas in the country due to the high temperatures recorded in the past weeks while calling on the government to act swiftly to take the situation under control.
Dialogue with Serbia, state budget, and massive dismissal of state employees are expected to come up for discussion soon.
