It is becoming more and more difficult for American businesses in Albania to find and retain qualified workers.

Their choice to work for companies abroad has been announced as the main concern in the results of the American Chamber of Commerce index.

“Qualified individuals are not only leaving Albania, but some of them work from Albania for foreign companies”, said Enio Jaco.

For Jaco, Albania’s imminent path to EU membership is a motive that must be highlighted to retain professional workers, while according to the Minister of Finance, Delina Ibrahimaj, the future is positive, because business confidence has gone up.

In the survey conducted with American businesses in the country since 2012, the perception of the business climate is 41.4 points out of 100 overall, with an improvement since 2019.
