EU spokesperson Anitta Hipper has stated that the inclusion of Miroslav Lajčák in the Epstein files does not compromise the process of normalizing relations between Kosovo and Serbia, which he mediated for five years.

“When it comes to the dialogue itself, it remains unaffected by such developments. The dialogue is a resilient process dating back to 2011, which is owned by the parties and led by the High Representative. It is also continuously overseen by the Member States,” Hipper said.

In documents published by the U.S. Department of Justice, Lajčák’s name is mentioned hundreds of times.

According to the documents, Lajčák discussed a wide range of topics, from geopolitical issues to personal matters, including women and young girls.

In one of the communications, Lajčák reportedly stated that he likes Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

Lajčák had initially denied having had contacts with Jeffrey Epstein. However, in a brief interview with a Slovenian radio station, he acknowledged that some of his communications had been inappropriate.

He emphasized that his relationship with Epstein was limited to communication only, not actions. Lajčák justified himself by stating that had he known earlier about the criminal nature of Epstein’s activities, he would not have interacted with him, and added that he cannot fully confirm the accuracy of all the messages currently circulating.
