Medical students will not be forced to work 5 years after graduation in Albania, but 3 years.
The draft law that sanctions that they cannot graduate without first providing health service in their country, has returned again for discussion in the committee, but this time it has been changed based on the request made by the Constitutional Court.
Now, the new draft has reduced from 5 years of work that was for first year students to 3 years and from 1 to 2 years for students of other years.
The draft law is being discussed in the Education and Health Committee to then receive approval in the next session in the parliament.
Medical students have rejected this bill earlier, through protests and boycotts.
