The government changes the deadlines for all citizens who benefit from the property compensation law.

With the bill approved this week, the file review process will last for the next 3 years, until December 31, 2027, while the previous deadline was December 31, 2024.

Likewise, the end of 2027 is the new deadline, where the Property Handling Agency will only financially assess all unassessed final decisions that have recognized the right to compensation, postponing the process by three years.

The new deadline has been approved with the argument that it is impossible to respect the initial deadlines, as the process was slowed down due to the large volume of files and court proceedings.

The legal changes determine that the payment process for all final decisions that have recognized the right to compensation will be completed by December 31, 2028.

With these revisions, the review of over 7,000 files that are still without a decision by the Property Handling Agency and the compensation of over 25,000 decisions archived for years in the institution are expected.

In terms of financial value, the state budget will annually approve a financial fund, no less than 5 billion ALL, until 2028.
