Publisher Nikolle Lesi, while speaking about the freedom of the press, recalled an interesting story from the past that involved analyst Andi Bushati when he had been reporting on an incident in Mamurras many years ago.
Invited on Euronews Albania’s ‘NOW with Erla Mehilli’, Lesi said that Bushati had sacrificed so much to get this single news story, that he had gotten knee-deep in the mud, an act which resulted in him getting a hefty reward.
“Andi Bushati, when he had just started at Koha Jone, went to the scene of a car accident that had happened in Mamurras; during this, he got into the mud with boots on, and as soon as I saw it, I instructed the head of finance to give him a reward. After this, Bushati joked that I had seen him for the mud, not the article. In any case, back then, journalism was done with passion. Unfortunately, today this is no longer the case, there is no more passion,” – said Lesi.
