Sali Berisha considers the local elections of May 14 as the most important after those held in 1992.

During the presentation of the candidate for the primaries for the Municipality of Vau Deja, Zef Hila, Berisha said that the fate of democracy is decided in these elections.

“May 14 is a day of extraordinary importance. These elections are the most important since 1992. The fate of democracy is decided in these elections. We will accept the monism of Edi Rama, his absolute power from the advisers to the prime minister, the president, the courts, the police or others, or as people who believe in pluralism, democracy, whatever we want, democrats, socialists, without party will vote for pluralism, for democracy. We will never forget that nations have had the greatest disasters in history from ideological, doctrinal, Marxist-Lelinist, theocratic monisms, such as this one based on the crime of drugs and theft of citizens. In this context, I welcome the union of the democrats in Vaun e Dejës and call on all citizens to unite, that pluralism is not only for the democrats, but for every Albanian who says human dignity, who believes that freedom creates more opportunities, who believes that Albania can only develop as a free country. The elections of May 14 are elections for every Albanian to stop the monstrous theft of Albanian citizens by this government”, he emphasized.
