Life imprisonment demanded for attempted murder of former Albanian prosecutor

Special Anti-Corruption Structure has requested life imprisonment for Redjan Rraja. As for Ariol Halilaj, has requested 35 years in prison.

They are accused of the assassination in which the prosecutor Arjan Ndoja was injured and the driver Andi Maloku lost his life.

Pëllumb Muharremi was also injured in this assassination attempt.

Redjan Rraja is in prison in connection with the assassination in 2019 of former prosecutor Arjan Ndoja, where he is accused of murder, illegal possession of weapons, criminal group, theft and committing criminal offenses as a criminal group. The event happened on November 1, 2019 on the Tirana-Durrës highway near the Shkozet overpass.

SACS prosecutor Adnan Xholi read the 36-page claim, listing a series of evidence that, according to him, implicates Redjan Rrajan in the November 1, 2019 assassination attempt at the crossing in Shkozet.

According to the investigations, Rraja was found to have been in the Mercedes-Benz vehicle that shot with a Kalashnikov while was driving, on the highway that former prosecutor Arjan Ndoj, Aleksandër Laho and the driver Andi Maloku were also driving.

Dentist Redjan Rraja was implicated by a papillary trace in a pair of glasses that were found in the vehicle in Shkafane, which they could not set it on fire even though a can of gasoline was found. For Ariol Halilaj, who helped Redjan Rraja to leave after the assassination attempt, SACS demanded 35 years in prison, while the next hearing where the defense’s conclusions and the decision are expected, is set for June 18.

For the assassination of former prosecutor Arjan Ndoj, several other people have been arrested, including Redjan Rraja’s relative, Ramazan Rraja. They were arrested after the unraveling of the communications on the SKAY application, while Plaurent Dervishaj and Julian Meçe are wanted by the police.
