Llogara Tunnel set to complete in June 2024 | Budget finances another 50 million euros

The Llogara Tunnel road will be opened in June 2024. Until the completion of the works, the budget will finance another 5.1 billion lek, or 50 million euros.

In the draft budget of 2024, the account tunnel will receive 50 million euros. This money will finance its complete completion, which will also lead to the opening of a new road towards the Riviera in the south.

5.9 km long Llogara Tunnel is considered one of the most important engineering works in the country, and is expected to be completed in June 2024.

The commissioning of this tunnel will give a great development to the south of Albania and also an infrastructural connection that will be made with the airport of Vlora.

The work on the construction of the Llogara Tunnel started on November 14, 2021 and the pace of the works has been within the forecasts.

Tunnel starts from the bridge of ‘Shën Eliza’ in the area of ​​Dukat, to the bridge of Palasa. It will be traversed at a speed of up to 80 km/h.

Llogara Tunnel is located about 20 km south of Vlora, and has an investment value of 142 million euros.

It is equipped on each side with sidewalks 1.17 m wide. The main tunnel is 7.7 m wide and 4.7 m high.
