Cars are selling less and less in Europe. This fact is evidenced by the year 2022, where the market shrank by 19%, even though compared to other goods, cars went on sale at a cheaper price.

In the countries monitored by the European Association of Vehicle Manufacturers, 1.4 million private cars were registered last year, up from 1.8 million in 2021.

Even in Albania, the price of transport vehicles at the big distributors decreased by 2% during last year.

The increase in the price of fuel, vehicle maintenance, not including food products and other expenses, reduced the demand for car purchases.

Car manufacturers also show that in the first 6 months, they have reduced the number of vehicles they put on sale, except for Honda and Hyundai.

A similar situation in the car market was also recorded in 2020, while in addition to supply and demand, the decline in production and sales of fuel-burning cars was also influenced by the competition of electric cars, which in the Albanian market make up only 1% of the total.
