Former mayor of Lushnje, Fatos Tushe, has been formally discharged earlier today, with a verdict approved by the government.
Tushe was arrested yesterday, after an ongoing police operation and is now facing accusations of “abuse of office and misuse of administrative resources”.
The official document released by the government on his dismissal, states that Tushe was removed from office “due to serious violations”.
Before running for mayor in Lushnja back in 2011, Fatos Tushe served as MP in the Albanian parliament, representing Fier as a member of the Socialist Party. In 2011, he resigned from his parliamentary duties in order to run for mayor.
His dismissal orders came into force immediately.
