The French president, Emmanuel Macron met with Kosovo’s PM Albin Kurti and extended the following message: Prishtina and Belgrade should find common ground regarding reaching an agreement and finding a compromise.

During their first meeting held at the Elysee Palace, in Paris, Macron gave Kurti the guarantee that France will support the integration process of Kosovo, into all European structures.

“Like all countries of the Western Balkans, Kosovo is seen as a point of interest by the European Union. It will have our support in the process of linking with the EU, in the normalization of relations with Serbia as well as the path toward reaching sustainable development.  As two nations with a strong political will, I invite you and Mr. Vucic to engage as two European leaders, in reaching an agreement and coming to a compromise,” – said Macron.

In their joint press conference, Kurti gave his statement, guaranteeing the French president that Kosovo will carefully follow all developments in Brussels, which are also affected by the coming to office of the new American president, Joe Biden.

“Now we have a new reality at our hands, one that’s made up of new components. I assure you that we are closely following all new developments in Brussels, especially US president Joe Biden’s visit and his talks with European leaders. We believe that a new political situation is taking shape, a well-thought-out situation, with a more articulate and balanced form of participation as well as a much higher level of reliability,” – declared PM Kurti.

In addition, Kurti expressed his gratitude to the French president in the name of the Kosovar nation, regarding their intervention as part of NATO, in stopping the Serbian genocide against Kosovo.
