A 52-year-old in Tirana was caught in flagrante, taking 70,000 euros from a businessman through fraud.
Using his social media platforms, Shpëtim Hida would communicate with different people, and present himself as a high official of a state institution.
It is believed that the businessman who denounced him and helped with his capture, is not the first person to be frauded by the 52-year-old.
The businessman had realized he was being frauded and informed the police about it. The officers arrested Shpëtim Hida, as he was meeting with said businessman who denounced him.
70,000 euros, a vehicle and a mobile device were seized by the police as material evidence.
In the first five months of the year, four businessmen have denounced cases of fraud, with citizens using names of officials or well-known personalities to benefit large amounts of money.
