Endri Shabani, the leader of Nisma Thurje and candidate for MP said on Ilva Now that their aim is to receive the support of those who have lost “faith in democracy” and “refrain from exercising their voting rights”.

Shabani said that many people are disappointed by politics, and added that there also many others that believe that the international community gets to decide who will rule the country.

“People are extremely disappointed, and unfortunately we’re paying the costs of those who were before us. Distrusts towards politics and the state has a cynical dimension. But besides that there are some, mainly from the younger generation who are influenced by what they see in the world, that believe that things can change”, said Shabani.

“Our greatest challenge is to convince those people to come out and vote”.

“A significant part of the population believes that internationals get to decide who will rule the country, and this conviction makes people lose the sense brought by the power of voting. Electing who will govern the country implies extraordinary power. In the last elections, traditional parties all and all got 1.6 million voters, out of a total of 2.8 million, which means 46% of the eligible voters. The rest has given up on politics”, said Shabani. “This is exactly our target group which can change the political reality”, concluded the chair of Nisma Thurje.
