The Marubi National Museum of Photography in Shkodra remains one of the favorites for both domestic and foreign tourists for this tourist season.
The magic of the Marubi dynasty documented in negatives attracts many visitors, especially those interested in the art of photography and historical tourism.
Luçjan Bedeni, director of the Marubi National Museum of Photography tells Euronews Albania that there has been an increase of about 40% in visitor numbers compared to 2019.
“This is a year that marks a very impressive record compared to 2019. We are more than 40% better than 2019, and I think this is certainly due to the growth of tourism but also as a result of our main focus and the surveys we have conducted, based on the temporary exhibition program.”
One positive trend that is noticed is the increase in domestic tourists expressing great interest in the museum.
“We have a constantly increasing curve of domestic visitors, so this is definitely something that impresses us as it aligns with the policies of the Marubi museum over the years to raise awareness among domestic visitors, and this seems to have an impact,” Bedeni further explains to Euronews Albania.
Although Albania is currently experiencing one of the hottest seasons in terms of temperatures, work at the photography museum does not stop.
Within the month of July, another exhibition is expected to be shown at the Marubi National Museum of Photography, which will be a surprise for visitors.
