A veterinary shelter that will come to the aid of street animals in the capital has been opened in Tufine.

Named as a “permanent home” for stray dogs, but also as a veterinary center, sterilization, vaccination and registration processes that will be carried out there.

“Those recent years, we have treated 6,000 dogs in street situations, they were vaccinated and have received medical care, then were adopted. Of course, now that we have a more dignified space, this place will have better conditions, but it also creates an opportunity to invite people to see them, to encourage them to connect with the animal world, especially children”, said the head of the Municipality of Tirana.

The mayor said that this project will make Tirana better.

“Adopting an animal is the best thing we can do, so that we don’t have problematic situations and we should have faith, since we can achieve those things that were impossible before,” said Veliaj.

The Consumer Protection Agency, in cooperation with the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, will also train students of this school as “guardians” for the puppies.
