Jorida Tabaku has not accepted to take over the leadership of Democratic Party, as chairperson, a position that Enkelejd Alibeaj resigned.

She announced this decision at the meeting of the presidency, after presenting the not good situation in which the party finds itself today.

“There is nothing wrong with having ambitions in politics, but in the situation we are in, I believe that the common interest prevails more than the personal one, and for this reason, I have decided not to accept the proposal of Mr. Gazment Bardhi for the commanding direction of Democratic Party”. After that, Tabaku presented a 5-point platform for the revival of DP.

But as long as I’m here, I want to give the Democrats a real process, and an opportunity to unite, which I think is important, as well as a reorganization process for a modern political force. For this I propose:

The establishment of a leadership group with 3 experienced people who will lead Democratic Party to the elections from the bottom up. This should also include a re-membership process, given the real situation in which DP is today. Today, nobody knows the real membership of Democratic Party, and I cannot accept to tell me that the membership is complete.

Opening the analysis process and starting a discussion with Democrats about where and what we did wrong. And here I mean a real political analysis with each box to understand the lost potential and what we can regain. Also provide real opportunities for grassroots union through a process of reflection as we cannot be open with some; but the union with all those democrats who for 10 years are tired of being losers, it is unforgivable and unfair to repeat March 6 and May 14.
