Memli Krasniqi has been elected chairman of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK).
469 delegates of the PDK’s 10th Electoral Convention elected Krasniqi as party leader.However, seven delegates were against his election as chairman.

He has received the support of all party structures, and is even considered as the most appropriate person to lead the party in these moments when its founders, Hashim Thaçi and Kadri Veseli are in The Hague.
But who is Memli Krasniqi?
Memli Krasniqi was born in Mitrovica on January 25, 1980, he completed his primary education at the primary school “Hasan Prishtina” and his secondary education at the “Xhevdet Doda”. He completed his studies in Political Science and Public Administration at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Pristina, whereas, he completed his Master’s degree in International Relations at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
During 1999 – 2000 he worked as a journalist for the American news agency Associated Press, and in 2002, he was the Director of Public Relations at the Kosovo Telemedicine Center.
For many years he has been involved in music and has worked on various music projects, mainly as a songwriter and as a member of the group “Ritmi i Rrugës”.
Since 2004 he has been actively involved in the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK),
In October 2006 he was elected President of the Democratic Youth of Kosovo.
He was also a member of the PDK Presidency.
In February 2013, Krasniqi was elected Deputy Chairman of the PDK for Organizational and Youth Affairs.
In the 2007 parliamentary elections, Memli Krasniqi was elected for the first time a member of the Assembly of Kosovo.
His greatest success in politics is being Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, as well as Minister of Agriculture.
While in the last elections he was re-elected for the sixth time a member of the Assembly of Kosovo and is the head of the PDK Parliamentary Group.
He is among the ten most voted people in PDK.
Memli Krasniqi lives in Prishtina, with his wife Meliza and their children Bora, Mali and Vera.
