Freedom Party leader Ilir Meta held a two-hour meeting with Sali Berisha in the Democratic Party headquarters today, after their “Together We Win” coalition lost by a landslide in the local elections, winning only seven out of 61 municipalities.

Meta accused the government of altering the citizens’ votes and considered the May 14th process an “electoral massacre”. He warned that they are documenting every violation, so that they can legally oppose the elections result.

“Every other minute we are getting shocking facts and we are documenting how the mafia controlled by Edi Rama destroyed the electoral process. Soon the process of legal opposition will begin, as well as the opposition action. Regardless of the alienation committed by Rama under the umbrella of the State Police, something is clear. Rama’s confidantes that he imposed on the Albanian citizens will not be able to steal quietly as they’ve been doing in the past four years. We will fight on behalf of all those citizens who voted under terrifying conditions and those who were intimidated,” said Meta after coming out of the meeting with Berisha.
