Today, the Inquiry Commission that was founded for the impeachment of president Ilir Meta voted in their investigative plan.
In addition, during the third meeting of this commission, two legal experts were appointed.
After a voting process by the members of the commission, the experts were eventually chosen to be Erind Merkuri and Artan Spahiu.
During the meeting, the Chairman of the Inquiry Commission, Alket Hyseni announced that by now, the commission has received requisitions from the applicable institutions that will help the commission with the investigative process.
At the end of April, 49 MPs of the Socialist Party signed the request that was later laid before Parliament with the aim of impeaching the president.
The majority of socialists claim that the president has breached the Constitution through his previous declarations, during and after the electoral campaign.
President Ilir Meta has yet to be present in a meeting held by the Inquiry Commission.
Meanwhile, on May 18th there will be a hearing session with the president, but his attendance has yet to be confirmed.
In addition, on May 24th the final report of the Inquiry Commission will be presented, which will then be addressed to the plenary session.
The Constitutional Court is the last institution, which will give a verdict for the president, regarding SP’s initiative for his discharge and impeachment.
