The President of Croatia, Zoran Milanović, has held a meeting with the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, in Zagreb. Milanovic said that all EU member states that have not yet recognized Kosovo’s citizenship should do so now.

Kosovo is not yet recognized by five EU member states: Spain, Cyprus, Slovakia, Romania and Greece since the declaration of independence in February 2008.

Milanović has stated that all the conditions for citizenship and full international recognition of Kosovo have been met.

“All the conditions for citizenship and full international recognition of Kosovo have been met and it should be recognized especially by all the members of the European Union who have not yet done such a thing”, Milanović said.

He added that Kosovo has the full and solid support of Croatia on the path to membership in all international associations.

In the communiqué of the Presidency of Croatia, it is also said that the normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia is also necessary, as this would mean greater stability in South-Eastern Europe.

During the day, Prime Minister Albin Kurti also met Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic and Speaker of Parliament Gordan Jandrokovic.
