Security experts in Kosovo have described the military parade in Belgrade as a direct threat to Kosovo and the stability of the Western Balkans, while emphasizing that Serbia does not currently have 20,000 active troops, making it impossible to gather 10,000 just for a parade.
On September 20, a military parade was held in Belgrade, attended by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, during which thousands of troops marched and the Serbian army’s most advanced weaponry was displayed, ranging from armored vehicles to fighter jets.
The parade was organized under the slogan “The Power of Unity,” at a time when the country is facing ongoing anti-government protests, fueled in particular by a tragic accident in Novi Sad last November, where 16 people lost their lives.
According to security expert Nuredin Ibishi, the parade was a demonstration that goes beyond the military framework, entering the political and geostrategic sphere.
