Kosovo’s minister of health in the 2nd Kurti administration, Arben Vitia, is now running for Prishtina’s mayor through the LVV (Self-determination movement).
Vitia has often been the focus of many political attacks by the opposition in Kosovo, especially regarding claims of mismanaging the COVID-19 pandemic. However, despite everything, LVV decided to place him at the front of their race for Prishtina’s commune.
Prishtina is currently being administered by Shpend Ahmeti, representative of the Social-Democratic party.
Meanwhile, since the last general elections in the country that took place on February 14th, Albin Kurti’s LVV has proved to have a strong electoral following.
The local elections in Kosovo will be held on October 17th.
