Interior Minister Taulant Balla, during the meeting with the structures of the Local Police Directorate of Gjirokastër, has stated that the police and other law enforcement agencies need some changes in their vision and mission.

Balla stated that the efficiency of the police’s work does not depend on their strength, but on the strength of the law, emphasizing that more priority should be given to communication and cooperation with citizens and the educational functions of the Police.

“As I have made known during my first contacts with leaders of the State Police, representatives of institutions, but also with citizens throughout the country, the Police and other law enforcement agencies need some changes in their vision and mission. I found that the public and the citizens have welcomed these new approaches in the relations of the Police with the law and the citizens. We must give more priority to communication, cooperation and partnership with citizens and educational functions of the Police and law enforcement agencies,” the minister declared.
