“Mirdita in photography”, exhibition dedicated to traditions of this area

The “Mirdita in Photography” exhibition was opened at “Europe House”, in Tirana, which contains works in the medium of documented photography by the artist and photographer Nadia Abazi, as well as photographs of the towers of the Mirdita area taken by heritage lovers.

A special exhibition space is dedicated to the place of collective memory of the Spaçi prison-camp with the video-installation entitled “Saharaja” by the interdisciplinary visual artist, Abi Shehu.

Also, traditional handicrafts of Mirdita artisans were exhibited, among which, the artisans single out the sweatshirt which contains 2000-year-old symbols, as well as the couplet and sharkia created by Gëzim Përsxefa, master of the production of these traditional musical instruments.

Also presented were three digital itineraries prepared by guide expert Lytfi Alliu, adapted to graphic maps by “Trivet”.

The participants were invited to taste the traditional Mirdira gastronomy, including walnut pie and pomegranate juice.

“Mirdita in Photography” will remain open to the public until January 15.
