The former Minister of Defense, Fatmir Mediu, says that Russian President Vladimir Putin wanted to expand the conflict in Ukraine, referring to the missiles that hit Poland, where two people were killed.
During his interview on “Now” on Euronews Albania, Mediu said that these actions are provocative for the NATO military alliance.
“For a long time, Putin has tried to expand the tension, of course he provoked NATO with the illegal intervention in Ukraine, he has tried to expand the conflict in other countries as well. These rockets have also exploded in Moldova before. It has tried to increase political tensions, not only the military. What happened today is a problematic precedent but we must find out, who is the source of these rockets”, he emphasized.
Two people have died in Poland after two rockets of Russian origin fell near the country’s border with Ukraine.
Missiles fell in the city of Przewodów, resulting in the crash of Polish military aircraft, according to local media.
Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki has called an emergency meeting of the country’s top national security and defense officials, according to government spokesman Piotr Mueller.
