Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis visited Dervican earlier today where he was received by PM Edi Rama.
In his speech to the residents of the area, he stated that he will support the Greek minority while he promised that they will do their best to ensure that the children living in these areas are educated in the Greek language.
“Livadhja has been a bridge between Greece and Albania. We will do our best to solve all the problems you’ve always had by cooperating with each other. For all those Greeks living here, our government assistance will be great. We will do our best that the Greek children who live here are educated in the Greek language, of course, and Albanian. We will support Albania’s path towards the EU. I am very excited about my visit here and the warm welcome you have given me. I promise you that I will be your main support not only now but always. We will also continue to cooperate with the Albanian government for improving our infrastructure,” he said.
