Hundreds of people attended the inauguration ceremony of Namazgya Mosque under the blessing of the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The Turkish President, accompanied by his wife, along with Prime Minister Edi Rama, accompanied by his wife, arrived inside the territory of the mosque, where each gave a greeting.
In his speech at this ceremony, Prime Minister Edi Rama said that the opening of this mosque is a long-awaited moment of the Muslim community that has been postponed over the years for many reasons.
“It is such a long-awaited moment by the Albanian Muslim Community, postponed over the years for many reasons. This shrine, which springs from a universal faith, is now the heritage of an entire people.
A missing cult object in this country where temples embody religious tolerance, as Pope Francis has said in religious fraternity. Today, after 10 years, the mosque enters the table of this genuine Albanian brotherhood”, said Rama, among other things.
The Prime Minister said, among other things, that the chief mufti of Tirana, Bilal Teqja, will be the leader of the Namazgja Mosque.
“May the foot of the chief mufti of Tirana, Bilal Teqja, who from today will be the guardian of this temple, and may the priest be blessed in their families to all the Muslim believers of Tirana and the whole of Albania.
May God bless Albania and help us on our way without turning back or stopping to the top where we want to raise the Flag of Skanderbeg and Ismail Qemali in a decent and good Albania for all Albanians regardless of religion, province or idea”, said Rama .
