Prime Minister Edi Rama has concluded meetings with the 12 political leaders of the districts and has finalized the list of candidates for MPs. Later, the Socialist Party (PS) leadership will convene at around 19:30 to announce the 186 candidates for the May 11 election race.

For the Tirana district, the names in the safe list include: Ogerta Manastirliu and Elisa Spiropali, both serving as political leaders, Ervin Hoxhaj, Minister of the Interior, Adea Pirdeni, Minister for Anti-Corruption, Lindita Nikolla, former Speaker of Parliament, Igli Hasani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Blendi Gonxhe, Minister of Economy and Culture, Helena Kaçe, and Zerina Bruçi, both emerging from the newest structures of the Socialist Party.

Meanwhile, in the open lists, where the competition is expected to be tougher and MPs will need to secure direct votes, the candidates are expected to include: Erion Braçe, Etilda Gjonaj, Fatmir Xhafaj, Ermonela Felaj, Xhemal Qefalia, Toni Gogu, Ornaldo Rakipi, and Pandeli Majko.

A total of 49 names will be included in the Tirana district race. On the other hand, there has been no final decision from Prime Minister Edi Rama regarding his candidacy. It is implied that if he decides to run, it will be in the Tirana district, although he has previously stated that he might not be a candidate for the Socialist Party in these elections at all.
