The enthronement of the new Metropolitan of Berat, Vlora and Kanina, Monsignor Asti, took place. In the ceremony organized in the “Saint Dhimitri” Cathedral in the Metropolis of Berat representatives of religious communities, high clergy of the Orthodox Church, representatives of the local government, deputies and many Orthodox believers were present.

The holy mass of the enthronement of the new Metropolitan of Berat was celebrated by the Archbishop of Tirana, Durrës and all Albania, Anastasi.

Monsignor Asti Bakallbashi was elected the new Metropolitan of Berat, Vlora and Kanina at the meeting of the Graceful Synod of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania, under the leadership of Archbishop Anastas Janullatos.

Monsignor Asti was elected unanimously on November 14, a few months after the death of Arvanite Monsignor Ignati.
