Lawyer Spartak Ngjela has made a strong statement saying that the head of the Albanian government Edi Rama will be extradited if it is proven that he has a relationship as is being said with former FBI agent Charles McGonigal, who was arrested after allegedly collaborating with a Russian oligarch.
In an interview for Euronews Albania, he emphasized that the criminal case against Rama has been opened in the USA, so it will be investigated there, not in our country.
“The criminal case has started in the US, whether Rama will be extradited or not is their business. You cannot start a process that started in the USA. The crime happened there. The crime happened in America, not here. International law doesn’t allow it,” he said.
